Tibi Cziger

Cited as an “exciting soloist” by The New York Times, Israeli clarinetist Tibi Cziger is a passionate soloist and a sought-after chamber musician. He has performed a wide range of chamber music and recital repertoire for the clarinet in concerts, as well as in television and radio broadcasts, across Europe, Asia, North America, and the Middle East. His repertoire spans from the Classical and Romantic canon to twentieth-century masterworks and contemporary music, with a particular focus on chamber and solo repertoire. He regularly collaborates with composers and is dedicated to premiering new works. Alongside modern performance, he especially enjoys playing period instruments and exploring historically informed performance practices.
Mr. Cziger is the founder and artistic director of the Israeli Chamber Project, an award-winning international chamber ensemble with which he tours worldwide, and a core member of the Israeli Contemporary Players, Israel’s leading contemporary music ensemble, with which he regularly premieres new concertos and chamber works. He is a participating member of festivals such as Musique en Brionnais and Toujours Mozart, and has appeared at the Marlboro Music Festival, Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival, and Ottawa Chamberfest, among others.
Mr. Cziger has appeared as a soloist with the Tivoli Symphony Orchestra in Copenhagen, the iPalpiti String Orchestra at Walt Disney Concert Hall, the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic, Metropolis Ensemble, the Israeli Contemporary Players, and the Israel Chamber Orchestra. He served as principal clarinetist of the Israeli Camerata Orchestra and as guest co-principal with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. He was also a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra during its inception years.
Mr. Cziger is a recipient of scholarships from the America–Israel Cultural Foundation and holds an Artist Diploma from The Juilliard School, M.Mus. with honors from the University of Southern California, and B.Mus., magna cum laude, from Tel Aviv University. His principal mentors include Charles Neidich, Yehuda Gilad, Richard Lesser, and Itzhak Kazzap.
Alongside his performing career, Tibi Cziger is an active and dedicated music pedagogue. He regularly gives masterclasses and workshops around the world, and his students are winners of national and international competitions. He serves on the faculty of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music (Tel Aviv University), the Jerusalem Music Center, and the Young Israel Philharmonic. Tibi Cziger is a Selmer Paris artist. He resides in the exciting city of Tel Aviv with his wife, cellist Michal Korman, and their children, Iyar, Noam, and Ivry.
